Frequently asked questions

What kind of music can a violinist play?
Violinists will usually be most comfortable playing classical music, but also your favourite pop, jazz, r&b or folk music.

Do violinists normally play with backing tracks?
If you only want the violinist’s performance to include classical pieces, they probably won’t need backing tracks. If the violinist’s performance includes pop songs or other styles, they may be able to provide backing tracks to fill out their performance. They’ll often perform the melody line of popular tunes, alongside pre-prepared backing tracks

Will I need to provide the violinist with any equipment?
All they'll need to play the music is the violin and an audience. If your venue is larger, they should be able to provide amplification or they will bring their own amplification.
